Yesterday, NTR's Devara debuted in a number of indian languages. janhvi kapoor plays the protagonist role in this action drama, which was directed by koratala Siva. Despite being a PAN indian movie, the filmmakers very little promoted Devara outside of Telugu. Although the hindi version's pre-sales weren't very strong, the film became much better with each subsequent screening.
Trade analysts claim that the hindi version of Devara made between 7 and 7.5 crores net on its first day of release. Even with the uninteresting marketing approach, this is quite the accomplishment. The combination of janhvi kapoor and Saif ali Khan, together with NTR's post-RR market growth, helped the picture secure a strong opening in the hindi belt.
Devara is targeting a first weekend gross of 30 crores going ahead. The critical monday hold will determine the lifelong business. If the hold is strong, it may surpass the 100 crore nett milestone; but, Jigra, starring alia bhatt, and Vicky vidya Ka Woh Vala Video, starring Rajkummar Rao, offer serious competition. We need to wait and watch how the movie holds on weekends and theater occupancy as well. Also, the movie needs to pass monday test.
