Prashant Verma Fails in OTT

The Mystery of Moksha Island, an anish kuruvilla serial scripted by Hanu Man director Prasanth Varma, has striking imagery but is poorly executed. Though it takes cues from Squid Game, Agatha Christie books, and other television series, it ultimately falls short of providing the thrill that was anticipated.

The show lacks excitement and intrigue despite having a great idea; viewers are left with uninteresting characters and no jump scares or surprising moments. The pre-climax is the only interesting part, and even that twist is expected and unremarkable. The primary cause of this is poor writing, which is unable to produce compelling scenarios or endearing characters. Even if a lot of well-known actors are in it, the characterisation of their performances is weak.

The several fatalities meant to arouse fear don't feel real, and the family members' apathetic reactions lessen the story's emotional impact. Increased anxiety and stress might have greatly intensified the encounter. Notably, nandu gives a respectable performance, ashutosh rana adds a hint of terror, and akshara gowda comes out in a seductive negative character. But Tejaswi Madivada's performance is especially grating. The terrible dubbing, which causes speech to seem out of sync and unnatural in context, is another serious issue. Although the series lacks the necessary terror to propel the story, it nevertheless has the makings of an engrossing thriller.
