In a remarkable twist, Bengaluru resident Saishwari has turned the simple act of sleeping into a lucrative opportunity, winning Rs 9 lakh as the ‘Sleep Champion’ in the third season of Wakefit’s innovative sleep internship program. This initiative, launched by the Bangalore-based startup, aims to emphadata-size the importance of quality sleep in today’s fast-paced world.
The Sleep Internship Program
Wakefit's sleep internship program is a groundbreaking concept designed for individuals who prioritize sleep as a crucial aspect of their overall well-being. Saishwari was among 12 select participants chosen for this unique experience, which required a commitment to maintaining healthy sleep habits.
Requirements for Participation
To qualify for the program, interns had to adhere to specific guidelines:
Sleep Duration: Each participant was required to sleep between 8 to 9 hours each night.
Daytime Naps: They were encouraged to take a 20-minute power nap during the day to boost their energy levels and enhance productivity.
Sleep Monitoring: Interns were provided with premium mattresses and sleep trackers to help monitor and analyze their sleep patterns throughout the internship.
Workshops and Guidance
In addition to tracking their sleep, participants engaged in regular workshops conducted by experienced sleep advisors. These sessions focused on:
Improving Sleep Hygiene: Interns learned about the factors that contribute to better sleep, including environment, routine, and lifestyle choices.

The sleep internship program garnered significant attention, attracting over 1 million registrations from individuals eager to improve their sleep habits and potentially earn a reward. After completing the three-part internship, 51 interns were offered employment opportunities with Wakefit, reflecting the program's success in promoting not just sleep awareness but also creating job prospects.
