Kamala Harris Wants to make Drugs Legal?

G GOWTHAM
With his demand that marijuana be made legal nationwide, Kamala harris has stirred things up. At the moment, 24 states have legalized cannabis for recreational use, while some more states permit the drug's medical usage. During the US election season, this approach caught the Democrats and their supporters off guard. Joe Biden has never been very clear about his position on legalization. The US President did propose that marijuana be reclassified as a less dangerous substance, but he walked carefully and gave the states the final say.

Kamala harris justified her support for this legalization by citing historical precedents. Drug prohibitions from the past have been problematic for many communities, particularly for people of color. The US Vice President, who is a native of the area, thinks legalizing marijuana will solve these problems. She claims that doing this will not only remove criminal penalties but also expunge the records of those found guilty of nonviolent marijuana-related offenses.

The nation's economy is predicted to gain economically from the move as well. States received almost $4 billion in tax income from the recreational drug last year, according to the marijuana Policy Project. Few political figures, particularly those vying for president, have openly discussed this problem. It will be fascinating to watch how this issue develops and how it influences the political climate before the elections.
