Due to continuous heavy rains in tamil Nadu, a precautionary holiday has been announced for schools and colleges today (October 15, Tuesday). Find out which district schools and colleges are given holiday today. chennai, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, and Thiruvallur districts are expected to receive heavy rain as the Meteorological Department has declared a holiday for schools and colleges in these four districts as a precautionary measure. Similarly, holidays have been announced for colleges and universities in Villupuram district and Cuddalore district.
Puducherry and Karaikal districts are expected to receive heavy rains, so schools and colleges have been closed as a precaution.
As a heavy rain warning has been issued in the coimbatore district afternoon, the collector has ordered a half-day holiday for the schools in the coimbatore district only after this afternoon. In whichever district receives heavy rains, the respective district Collectors will consult with the Disaster Management Committee and if necessary, a holiday will be granted. So students, parents, and teachers should not worry about it, the tamil Nadu government said. The low-pressure area prevailing over Southeast Bay of bengal has moved towards West North West and strengthened into a deep depression area at 5.30 am today and is currently standing over Central Bay of Bengal. As heavy rain warning has been issued for various places in tamil Nadu, the tamil Nadu government is taking precautionary measures.
