Canada accuses Modi-led Govt colluding with the Bishnoi gang to carry out criminal operations
According to a Washington Post article, National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval and his Canadian counterpart met in secret in singapore to examine Bishnoi's suspected role in the Canadian murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
Ottawa's allegations that New delhi was involved in the assassination have been roundly denied by india, which has described them as a "deliberate strategy to smear india for political gain."
HARDEEP NIJJAR'S murder AND BISHNOI GANG
In british Columbia, canada, on june 18, 2023, Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot and killed outside a gurdwara. He was shot 34 times by three marksmen. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) of india has Nijjar listed as a terrorist, with a bounty of Rs 10 lakh.
He was charged with participating in terrorist activities in punjab and carrying out the targeted assassinations of Hindu leaders in that region in coordination with Pakistan's intelligence service, the ISI. Additionally, intelligence services indicated that Nijjar had received instruction in Pakistan.
In May 2024, nearly a year later, four individuals of indian descent were taken into custody by Canadian authorities about the murder: three at first and one thereafter. Canadian officials claim that 22-year-old karan Brar and Kamal Preet Singh, as well as 28-year-old karan Preet Singh, admitted to the murders. Amardeep Singh, a 22-year-old suspect, was apprehended thereafter and admitted to being involved in the murder. With student visas in hand, all four had traveled to canada and were sticking out.
The four guys who were detained were connected to the lawrence Bishnoi gang, according to a Canadian publication, which was published before the police released an official announcement. According to the article, Bishnoi's men sent four shooters from punjab to canada to kill Nijjar, purportedly at the request of India's research and analysis wing (RAW).
On october 15, canada reaffirmed that indian agents collaborating with the lawrence Bishnoi gang were focusing on pro-Khalistan individuals, following claims linking the Bishnoi gang to the death of ncp politician and former maharashtra minister baba Siddique. Other than the identities of the four individuals from punjab, the Canadian police haven't yet produced any hard proof.
Canadian officials claim that Sukhdool Singh, another terrorist from Khalistania, was killed in Winnipeg, canada, in september of last year by members of the Bishnoi gang. Sukha Dunike, also known as Sukhdool Singh, was a member of the opposing Bambiha gang and had fled India. Later, the Bishnoi gang admitted to the killing and said, "We will find and eliminate our enemies, wherever they may be."
Many terrorists and gangsters from punjab, according to an intelligence agency officer in india, travel to canada, where the government offers them sanctuary. He claims that these criminal gangs are engaged in a gang war that is killing people and that the Canadian government is trying to deceive its people by placing the blame on indian authorities.
The Bishnoi gang has been connected to several violent occurrences in canada, including a shooting at the residence of singer-actor Gippy Grewal following his appearance in a video featuring bollywood star salman khan, in addition to their targeting of Khalistani terrorists.
High-profile incidents in india have also featured the Bishnoi gang, such as the May 2022 murder of punjabi musician Sidhu Moose Wala. The group was also connected to a gunshot that occurred at salman Khan's mumbai home in april of this year.
Even though lawrence Bishnoi spent years in jail, his gang persisted, mostly under the leadership of his brother Anmol Bishnoi and another mobster who is presently residing in the US, Goldy Brar.
