Due to heavy rains in chennai for the last two days, most of the people have been sheltered in the relief camps of the tamil Nadu government. Food is being provided to them by the government. In this case, tamil Nadu chief minister M. K. stalin has announced that free food will be provided at Amma restaurants across chennai today and tomorrow. The chief minister of tamil Nadu has issued this action announcement in order to make the people of chennai happy during the heavy rains. On october 16 and 17, people can dine for free at Amma restaurants in their respective areas for two days and three meals.
Tamil Nadu chief minister M.K.Stalin said in a statement, "In the areas affected by the north-east monsoon yesterday, all the relief work is being carried out in full swing. The people living in the low-lying areas are being accommodated in relief camps, and they are being provided with food and other assistance by the chennai Metropolitan Corporation. In this case, food will be provided free of cost in Amma restaurants where poor people living in other parts of chennai can eat."
Apart from this, DMK and the government are providing free meals to the people staying in relief camps in three districts namely chennai, Kanchipuram, and Thiruvallur. Although the heavy rain warning has now been lifted, there is a chance of heavy rain tonight, according to the chennai Meteorological Department. So people have been advised to stay in relief camps. The government has also requested that the people return to their normal lives after the low-pressure zone in the Bay of bengal has completely crossed the shore tomorrow.
A low-pressure area over the Bay of bengal has moved towards the Rayalseema region of South Andhra Pradesh. Due to this, the heavy rain warning in chennai has been lifted. However, the chennai Meteorological Department has said that there is a chance of rain in the three districts of chennai, Kanchipuram, and Thiruvallur till 10 am tomorrow. tamil Nadu Weatherman pradeep in a post published on john X's page said that there will be no heavy rains in chennai, but moderate rains. He also said that there is good news for the people of chennai that there is no more danger due to rain.
