Also, australia had won the last 15 t20 world cup matches they had played. australia has been unusually dominant in women's cricket. south africa shocked the team that had won 15 consecutive world cup matches in the semi-finals. With this, south africa is telling australia that "the world cup is not written in your name".
Australia batted first in this first semi-final. Beth Mooney scored 44 runs off 42 balls, Dakila McGrath scored 27 runs off 33 balls, Elise Perry scored 31 runs off 23 balls and Pope Litchfield scored 16 runs off 9 balls. australia scored 134 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.
