Currently, only stage 1 of GRAP is effective in Delhi. The second stage of GRAP is applicable in a situation when the air Quality Index in the capital is measured as 'very poor' between 301-400.Stage 3 is applicable in 'severe' air quality. At present, the AQI in delhi is between 401-450. At the same time, the last and stage 4 of the GRAP action plan is implemented in the situation of 'severe +' air quality.
Dr. amit Jindal of RML Hospital said, 'Every year, an increase in the level of pollution is seen in delhi around the diwali season. This year the pollution level increased a week ago which is causing problems for people. We have started a separate OPD for the treatment of pollution-related diseases. We are getting patients with breathing problems, skin irritation, sore throat-coldness, shortness of breath, andirritation in the eyes. We have prepared an advisory that tells us what to do and what not to do.
