Bengaluru Rains: A 7-storey under-construction building collapsed in Bengaluru on tuesday (22 october 2024) due to heavy rains in Karnataka. 13 people have been evacuated safely in the rescue operation going on since tuesday evening, while five people died. At least 20 workers are feared trapped due to the collapse of this building in Babusapalya, Bengaluru.
The incident happened at a time when it was raining heavily in the city. According to the information, many areas in and around Yelahanka were flooded. Two vehicles of the Fire and Emergency Department were engaged in relief and rescue operations. A senior police officer said that rescue operations are being carried out with the help of other agencies.
Five teams of NDRF-SDRF deployed.
Five teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were deployed to rescue people stranded in Bengaluru, the IT capital of the country. Heavy rains caused such devastation that household items, vehicles, and electronic goods were washed away in the water. There was a huge traffic jam on many main roads of the city. There was a traffic jam for several kilometers on the ballari Road leading to Kempegowda international Airport. There was also a huge traffic jam on Tumkuru Road, Old madras Road, and Kanakapura Road.
