Not only this, one person has died in America after eating burgers, and dozens of people are hospitalized. The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention says that these cases are related to McDonald's burger Quarter Pounder hamburger. E. coli infection has been found in the sick people.

Ten people are currently hospitalized due to infection, out of which the condition of a child is said to be critical.

The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention said that an elderly person has died due to infection after eating a burger. Investigation found that one thing was common among the people infected with E. coli and that was that they had eaten Quarter Pounder hamburger at McDonald's.Investigators say that the exact cause of infection is not known yet, but the focus of the investigation is on the chopped onion and beef patties used in the burger. Both these things have been removed from McDonald's restaurants till further investigation. Joe Erlinger, President of McDonald's America, also admitted that the use of their Quarter Pounder hamburger and chopped onions has been banned.


Symptoms of E. coli infection include high fever, diarrhea, andvomiting in the infected person. Its symptoms usually start appearing after three to four days. In most cases, the infected person recovers on his own, but some cases can be seriousand patients may have to be hospitalized.
