Reportedly prime minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a BRICS event in Russia’s Kazan, said india supported dialogue and diplomacy and not war. He called for global resolve and unity against terror funding and violence. prime minister Narendra Modi joined the 16th BRICS Summit on Wednesday, a day which will see him participating in meetings of the grouping in narrow and expanded formats but also holding significant bilateral discussions, including with Chinese President Xi Jinping.Perhaps during the closed plenary session of the summit, themed ‘Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security’, PM Modi said, “We support dialogue and diplomacy, not war. Just as we collectively overcame challenges like Covid, we are fully capable of creating new opportunities for a safe, empowered, and prosperous future for the next generation.”Moreover PM Modi said nations should work towards global regulations for cybersecurity and safe, secure artificial intelligence. PM Modi welcomed the new members to the Brazil, Russia, india, and china (BRICS) summit and appreciated Russian President Vladimir Putin for his successful leadership. He said “We need to move forward promptly for reforms in global institutions such as the UN Security Council, Multilateral Development Banks, and the WTO. While advancing BRICS’s efforts, we must ensure that this organization does not create an image that we want to replace global institutions rather than reform them”.
