Jaishankar raised Middle East tensions issue at the BRICS Outreach Session in Kazan
As per report the External Affairs minister Dr S jaishankar on thursday reiterated prime minister Narendra Modi’s famous “not an era of war” remark and said that agreements between countries must be respected and international law should be adhered to “without exception.Perhaps when taking part in the BRICS Outreach Session in Kazan, the External Affairs minister said, “Addressing conflicts and tensions effectively is a particular need of the day. prime minister Modi has emphadata-sized that this is not an era of war. Disputes and differences must be settled by dialogue and diplomacy. Agreements, once reached, must be scrupulously respected. international law should be adhered to, without exception. And there should be zero tolerance for terrorism.”Moreover the EAM highlighted the ongoing tensions in the Middle east between israel, iran and the ongoing war of israel in Gaza and lebanon and said that there is a “widespread anxiety” in the region that the tensions will escalate further. He said “The situation in the Middle east, West Asia for us, is an understandable concern. There is a widespread anxiety that the conflict would spread further in the region. Maritime trade has also been deeply affected. The human and material consequences of further escalation are truly serious. Any approach has to be fair and durable, leading to a two-state solution”.
