Will Dynamic Ticket Pricing Work in AP?

G GOWTHAM
Grandhi Vishwanath, the MD of Poornah Pictures and a past president of the andhra pradesh Film Chamber, stressed the importance of flexible ticket pricing in the telugu film industry at a meeting with andhra pradesh Deputy chief minister pawan kalyan on Tuesday. He noted that high ticket costs and over-the-top (OTT) platforms are putting spectators at a disadvantage, especially those with lower incomes.

Vishwanath said that the film industry may be revitalized by using a flexible pricing model, such to those used in telangana, Maharashtra, and Karnataka. This strategy would make cinema more accessible to a wider audience by allowing ticket prices to fluctuate according on the budget of the movie and other limitations. He maintained that this technique might greatly help independent films and attract more moviegoers to cinemas. pawan kalyan responded by endorsing the initiative and pledging to bring it to the Chief Minister's notice.

With ticket prices in telangana now ranging from ₹112 to ₹295 (GST included), this dynamic pricing method seeks to reconcile viewer affordability with producer profitability. There is a need for a more practical answer, though, since there have been worries that manufacturers are still pushing for increases in ticket prices in spite of these restrictions. Enacting flexible ticket prices may help to revive the business and guarantee that everyone can continue to see movies.
