For both hindi and regional film, the second quarter of FY2024 proved to be prosperous. According to trade sources, stree 2 made an incredible ₹713 Cr. in the hindi market, with kalki 2898 AD coming in second with ₹214 Cr. With Thalapathy Vijay's "Greatest of All Time" reaching the top with an incredible ₹250 Cr. collection, regional cinema also made significant progress this quarter. According to sources, Jr. NTR's Telugu-epic Devara also reached the list, ranking third shortly after kalki in 2898 AD with a collecting of 147.2 Cr.

Due to their different genres—one being a horror-comedy and the other a dystopian futuristic sci-fi with historical roots—Stree 2 and kalki 2898 AD were able to achieve success. They broke records by fusing Kalki's future vision with a flashback to the past and stree 2's horror and mystical elements. Devara's profound narrative and stunning underwater sequences, combined with Jr. NTR's widespread popularity, worked like magic to help the movie succeed despite its lackluster beginning.

Due to its immense action capabilities and Thalapathy's fame, Vijay's "G.O.A.T." topped the regional film list, once again demonstrating the power of tamil cinema. The figures for this quarter indicate that moviegoers are more enthusiastic and that regional cinema is being strongly promoted nationally. This demonstrates that conventional cinema is here to stay, even in the era of over-the-top streaming!
