Reportedly the iskcon temple in Andhra Pradesh’s tirupati district received a bomb threat through email, prompting the police teams to beef up the security in the city, said officials on Monday. The temple authorities informed the police about the bomb scare in the late hours of october 27, claiming that Pakistan-based terrorists had threatened to blow up the temple in an email received by them.Perhaps acting on the alert, the local police along with the teams of the Bomb Disposal Squad and the Dog Squad rushed to the spot and conducted searches. No explosives or other objectionable items were recovered, the police said. They suspected it to be yet another incident of hoax mail threat.Moreover earlier on october 24, similar bomb threat alerts were received by four hotels and the airport which turned out to be hoaxes. However, the city was put on high alert by the police to prevent any bomb threat-related incident. In response, the tirupati East police registered an FIR and initiated an investigation into the series of threatening emails. Circle Inspector Srinivasulu confirmed the incident and reassured the public that authorities are diligently working to identify those responsible for the threats.
