There is fierce competition between the two contenders as the US elections of 2024 get near. people have begun to speculate about what would happen in the event of a tie because it is so close. There are 538 electors in the US, including senators and representatives. In order to win, a candidate must receive a majority of 270 votes.
 
People are discussing a tie at 269 votes apiece or a scenario in which neither candidate receives a majority since Kamala harris and donald trump are so close in the race. The 12th amendment to the US Constitution will take effect if this extraordinary event occurs. Regardless of demographic differences, each state has one vote in this contentious process, which involves the house of Representatives.
 
According to this concept, smaller states have somewhat more sway than larger ones. Only a few times have both presidential contenders failed to secure the majority, and each time it has left the political landscape in a state of chaos. Despite experts pointing out the system's flaws and obsolete state, no modifications have been made.
