Aamir Khan's Dangal, which made about Rs. 2,000 crores globally, becoming one of the greatest hits of 2016. The lives of the three members of the well-known Phogat Family were the main focus of the original idea. Although viewers thought the wrestlers' family had benefited much from the movie's popularity, the truth was otherwise.
Babita Phogat, played by Sanya Malhotra, recently stated in an interview that they were only paid Rs. 1 crore. During the interview, Babita stated that none of the members were ignorant of the actors who had been chosen to play the characters, and that director Nitesh Tiwari had told the narrative first. Babita noted that she was tearful when she saw the movie.
Babita revealed some unidentified information, such as the fact that there was a debate over changing her name since the creators wished to do so for unclear reasons. Her father Mahavir, however, disapproved of this and instructed aamir khan to use their true identities. Babita went on to say that the rights payments were agreed upon before to the story's writing and that they accounted for less than 1% of the entire revenue, which, when taken into account, comes to Rs. 20 crores. Eventually, she disclosed the primary sum, which came to Rs. 1 crore. Although Babita's comments made headlines, aamir khan and Nitesh Tiwari have not yet responded.
