HYDRAA: The Good, Bad, & Ugly

G GOWTHAM
Over the past few months, telangana has been talking about the hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA). HYDRAA has been more well-known when it overturned Nagarjuna's N-Convention for unlawfully intruding on a lake in Madhapur. When HYDRAA attacked the encroachments of the affluent and established, everything was OK. However, when it started destroying the homes of others who were poorer, things became quite bad. When HYDRAA began to target the properties of the impoverished, many who had previously applauded it started to criticize it.
On october 25, HYDRAA celebrated its 100th day of existence. According to accounts, the agency's activities have caused more harm to the poor than to the affluent throughout this time. Following the initial commotion, HYDRAA sent notifications to unlawful encroachments owned by mla Akbaruddin Owaisi, minister Ponguleti srinivas Reddy, tirupati Reddy, the brother of chief minister Revanth Reddy, and a number of well-known builders. But even after all these years, none of these enterprises have been impacted. Recently, HYDRAA has not even brought up these issues in the press.

The debate has been heightened by events such as the destruction of an elderly couple's just registered home, the demolition of a person's recently inaugurated home, a lady who committed suicide because she was afraid of losing her home, and other court applications by people who were afraid of demolitions. The media frequently reports that HYDRAA is demolishing the homes of the poor and common people. Furthermore, all of the debris from HYDRAA's demolitions is still dispersed around the locations. What started out as a motivational project has since drawn harsh criticism. Before focusing on impoverished people's homes, it is unclear if HYDRAA can restore public confidence by tackling the illicit properties of powerful people.
