BJP Should See an Ally in Vijay as Vijay never attacked BJP harshly

SIBY JEYYA
Given the lack of ideological overlap and potential voters, the bjp in tamil Nadu is probably going to be the party least affected by Vijay's political debut. For the time being, the bjp should view Vijay as an ally rather than an adversary. Vijay has left the door open for a possible partnership and has not made the bjp a political taboo, based on the tone and tenor of his speech. The bjp shouldn't waste its energy fighting TVK until Vijay strikes the party, which is primarily targeting prime minister Narendra Modi. According to Vijay, the BJP's approach against TVK should likewise be a Decent approach, a Decent Attack.

In the past, the DMK and AIADMK coalitions have garnered more than 80% of tamil Nadu's votes, marginalizing third-party candidates. Their total share, however, dropped below 70% in the 2024 elections—and even below 50% in the absence of partnerships. Under Annamalai's leadership, the bjp was motivated by this decline to forge its own route in the state.
With the DMK at the head of a solid coalition that has won several elections, the party's influence in tamil Nadu is still strong. The opposition groups opposing the DMK alliance are now divided and include the AIADMK, bjp (NDA), Naam Tamilar, and now Vijay. This scenario points to a possible five-way race for the 2026 elections: Vijay's TVK, the bjp (NDA), the AIADMK, the DMK coalition, and Naam Tamilar. Therefore, Vijay's participation will only help the DMK win until the DMK coalition breaks up.
