With several new films scheduled, the tollywood box office has had a busy diwali season. Interestingly, the public responded well to nearly every new release, including Lucky bhaskar, Ka, and Amaran. However, this diwali holiday season saw a very odd and surprising turn of events at the box office. Both of the new releases were unable to sell out at the ticket booths, despite the favorable reviews and great reaction.
Amaran, Ka, and Lucky bhaskar all had a mediocre run. According to sources, none of these films were able to make an impact and surpass the barrier since festivalgoers weren't particularly drawn to the cinemas. It seems that all of the new films had to settle with non-blockbuster figures because the diwali crowd didn't have a crazy rush.
This demonstrates once more the tendency that people are only willing to go to the movies in large numbers if a huge hero movie is coming out, as was the case with Devara. This diwali has been a pretty odd one since, despite having strong word-of-mouth openings, none of the films were able to surpass the threshold and make a breakthrough. Of the aforementioned films, Lucky bhaskar recorded more earnings, but Ka could provide Kiran, who has been struggling, with some relief. Amaran also performed well in Telugu. Here, Bhageera from kannada was a washout.
