Will surya overcome the obstacles and succeed?
It is said that Suriya starrer Kanguva, which is slated to hit the screens on november 14, will be released in tamil Nadu only in fewer theatres. The year 2024 was full of ups and downs for tamil cinema. Not a single hit film was released in tamil in the first 4 months of this year. During that period, the malayalam film Manjummal Boys was the highest-grossing film in tamil Nadu. Subsequently, tamil cinema started its collection hunt in May. According to this, Aranmanai 4, which hit the screens in May, became the first 100-crore film of the year.
After that, Vijay Sethupathi's Maharaja in June, Dhanush's Raayan in July, Thangalan in August, Vijay's GOAT in September, Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan in october and Sivakarthikeyan's Amaran in the last 6 months alone, tamil cinema has given 700 crore films. Vijay's GOAT was the highest grosser of Rs.450 crores. Next to that is Sivakarthikeyan's Amaran, which has collected more than 250 crores. While a 1000 crore collection in other languages is easy, it remains tough for tamil cinema. Kanguva was expected to be the film that would fulfill this dream of tamil cinema. The film, which is being made in the lead role of Suriya, has been made on a grand scale with a budget of around 350 crores. The film is slated to release on november 14. But before the release, producer Gnanavel raja had given a build-up that he believed the film would collect 2000 crores.

Apart from this, actor Suriya also has a lot of faith in the film. producer Gnanavel raja had said that the film is going to be screened on 11,500 screens worldwide. It will include 900 screens in tamil Nadu. But now, in a sudden twist, there is a problem of getting 900 screens in tamilnadu for Kanguva. The main reason for this is the movie Amaran starring Sivakarthikeyan. It is said that the theater owners are refusing to pick up the movie Amaran because it is running in theaters. Thus it seems likely that Kanguva will get only 500 screens in tamil Nadu. Maybe the Kanguva movie release on limited screens but it will affect the collection of the movie severely. And the film's dream of collecting a thousand crores is also likely to be shattered. It is said that the Kanguva film crew is a bit confused.
