Muslim cleric Spits into Water Bottles held by his Followers - Video goes Viral
After reading a surah, a mullah will spit or blow on the water, delivering it to those who think it is sacred and that drinking it will cure them of illnesses and problems. Along with the video, Nasreen tweeted, "The disciples are idiots, and the mullah is smart."
The significance of spitting in Islam: How it can ‘ward off Satan’
Recent social media videos of people contaminating food with urine, saliva, and other substances have made food hygiene more popular. While some people believe that cleanliness and personal hygiene cannot be compromised, the Muslim devotees in the video above seem to be in no hurry to have their water spat into by a Muslim cleric, perhaps because they believe that his spit will heal them of their ailments and enhance their religious activities. Spitting, therefore, has a unique connotation in Islam, particularly to fend off the "evil spirit" or "Satan."
Numerous Hadiths claim that spitting in a specific way might prevent nightmares and even the intervention of Satan (Shaitaan). Spitting to your left will help you avoid having terrible nightmares, according to Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 54, Number 513. A good dream is from Allah, while a terrible or evil dream is from Satan, according to the Prophet of Islam. Therefore, if anybody has a bad dream that makes them anxious, they should spit on their left side and seek refuge with Allah from its evil, as it will not harm them. This also gets credence in Sahih Muslim, Book 026, Number 5463 which says that spitting to your left three times stops the interference of Satan.
