The price of onion is going up drastically..!?
Since the end of the festive season, onion prices have continued to rise. Due to this, there has been a shortage of onions in the leading markets of India. onion is the main ingredient in vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes cooked in our country. There are very few dishes without onions. In places where onion is procured in bulk, the supply has decreased due to rain. A senior official of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs said that due to this, onion prices will decrease in the coming days. Currently, the all-India retail price of onion is Rs 54 per kg. The government is planning to sell onions at high prices in delhi and peru at a price of Rs.35. It is also said that the government currently has 4.5 lakh tonnes of onions in stock. Out of which 15 lakh tonnes have been sold till date. Government's new plan to stabilize the price!"
Onion is transported by train to many parts of india to reduce the onion shortage. The government has informed us that until the price of onion stabilizes, it will be brought from other areas using rail transport. In the last few weeks, 4850 tonnes of onions have been supplied by railways to areas like delhi, Chennai, and Guwahati. A maximum of 3,170 tonnes of onion was transported to the delhi market. Although 34 percent more onion was planted this year compared to last year, the increase has been rendered ineffective due to the rains. Similarly, the prices of vegetables continue to increase food inflation. According to a recent Grise report, prices of veg meals increased by 20 percent in october compared to September. The main reason for this is the rise in prices of vegetables and pulses. This rise in the onion web has affected not only indian households but also restaurants. Will there be an end to this problem in the coming days? We have to wait and see.
