SP candidate has assets worth more than Rs 400 crore!
After the first phase of voting in jharkhand is over, the campaign for the second phase is now going on at war level. The fate of many crorepati candidates is also at stake in the second phase. The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) released its report on Thursday. jharkhand Election watch and ADR analyzed the Self-Sworn Affidavits of 522 out of 528 candidates in 38 constituencies for the second phase of elections to be held on november 20.
How many crorepati candidates in the second phase in Jharkhand?
The report said that out of the 522 candidates, 127 are crorepatis (about 24 per cent) while 148 (28 per cent) have declared criminal cases against themselves. The report also said that the role of money power in our elections is evident from the fact that all major political parties field rich candidates.
How much property does Aqeel Akhtar have?
Aqeel Akhtar, who is contesting from Pakur on a Samajwadi party ticket, has declared movable assets worth Rs 99.51 lakh and immovable assets worth Rs 402 crore. He is followed by independent candidate Niranjan Rai from Dhanwar with assets worth about Rs 137 crore. Mohammad Danish of azad Samaj party (Kanshi Ram) from Dhanwar, whose total assets are about Rs 32 crore.
Candidates with the least assets in the second phase?
On the other hand, jharkhand People's party (JPP) candidate Aelian Hansdak, contesting from Maheshpur (ST) constituency, has declared zero assets, while independent candidate Rajeshwar Mahato from Silli has reported assets worth Rs 100, and another independent candidate, Jitendra Oraon, has declared his assets as zero. Khijir has declared assets worth around Rs 2,500.
