SIBY JEYYA
With over 34 million views on X, a video purporting to show a "188-year-old man" being rescued from a cave close to Bengaluru has gone viral. With the help of the nickname 'Concerned Citizen,' the video went viral, generating a great deal of discussion and conjecture. This indian man was just discovered in a cave, according to the post that went with the video. He is said to be 188 years old. Crazy.

In the 24-second video, two guys were seen helping an old man who was stooped over, had a white beard, and was supported by a walking stick. Notwithstanding the video's speedy dissemination, fact-checkers and web platforms soon began to question the man's age claim due to its exceptional nature.

The figure in the video was quickly identified by many publications as Madhya Pradesh-based Hindu guru Siyaram Baba. The sources indicated that the man is somewhere about 110 years old, not 188. Below the initial message, X itself posted a warning that read: "Misinformation! 'Siyaram Baba', a Hindu saint from Madhya Pradesh, India, is the old guy. Reports state that he is around 110 years old.

Further investigation by data verification group D-Intent Data corroborated this. The group labelled the video and the age claim as misleading. Posting on X, they stated, "ANALYSIS: Misleading. FACT: A video of some people helping an elderly individual has been shared, claiming that a 188-year-old indian man has just been found in a cave. The fact is that these claims are not true. The elderly man is a Saint named 'Siyaram Baba,' who lives in Madhya Pradesh, India."
