According to police on Monday, a 46-year-old lady was detained last week for reportedly robbing a four-year-old child from a sidewalk close to red Fort and leaving him the same day after discovering he practiced a different faith. One day after the kidnapping, the youngster was saved. Rachna Devi, a resident of east Delhi's krishna Nagar, was apprehended from her home on november 12, according to raja Banthia, the deputy commissioner of police (north).

According to police, the kidnapping was reported to them around 1 pm on november 7. When they arrived, Ruksana, the boy's mother, informed them that she and her kid resided on the sidewalk next to the parade field. "She claimed that her son was gone when she returned from using the public restroom at around 10.30 a.m.," the police officer added.

A complaint was filed on kidnapping accusations.

On november 8, while conducting their investigation, authorities received word that a youngster had been placed in an observation house located in Shastri Park. The boy was then given to his mother after receiving counseling and a medical examination, according to the police.

After looking through over 400 CCTV clips, the lady was seen wandering the neighborhood for a while before picking up the boy and leaving while his mother wasn't there. "A video that showed her and the youngster in an autorickshaw was discovered while tracking down her path. After being located, the driver admitted to dropping her off near Seelampur Chowk, the officer stated.

On november 12, the woman was recognized and taken into custody from her home.
