The actor, who shared a close bond with his parents, Mir Taj Mohammed Khan and Lateef Fatima, experienced their loss prior to achieving his status as the king of Bollywood. The untimely passing of his parents significantly impacted his life trajectory. Reflecting on his financial situation after the death of his parents, Shah Rukh Khan recounted that he data-faced monetary challenges.
His father, Mir Taj Mohammed Khan, an activist for indian independence, passed away from cancer in 1981, while his mother succumbed to complications from diabetes in 1991, well before he entered the film industry. During the Global Freight Summit in Dubai, Khan revealed that many of his life choices were driven by necessity. He expressed a desire to pursue a career in science but was hindered by financial constraints. He stated: "I had no money. I initially studied to be a scientist, then I pursued economics, and later I delved into mass communication. I completed my master's in these fields, which may seem unrelated to my eventual choice to become an actor." Shah Rukh Khan also shared that his first salary in the television industry was Rs. 1,500, a substantial amount for him at the time. He began his career in television, which ultimately paved the way for his future successes. At the age of 14, he embarked on this journey.
