Indian IT service companies targeting American companies..!?
It is said that trump will bring major changes to the H1B visa process as soon as he takes office as the US President. Due to this, those who are waiting to apply for H1B visas and American companies that have hired their employees through H1B visas are currently in turmoil. American technology companies use H1B visas to hire talented employees from abroad. In that way, many indian technology experts are working in the US through H1B visas. It is said that donald trump will bring major changes in immigration policy after taking office as President of the United States. In this situation, it has now been revealed that US companies have significantly reduced H1B sponsorship in 2024. This information has been revealed through data released by the US Department of Citizenship and Immigration. US companies have reduced H1B sponsorship this year.
Amazon has provided H1B visa sponsorship to a maximum of 9,265 people. Infosys has provided 8,140 people and cognizant has provided 6320 people. google has sponsored 5364 people, tcs has provided 5274 people and Meta has sponsored 4844 people. microsoft has sponsored 4,725 people, apple 3,873, HCL America 2,953, and ibm 2,906. amazon sponsored more than 11,000 H1B visas last year, while Infosys and tcs have also reduced their sponsorships. The global economic slowdown, artificial intelligence, the rule that Americans should be given priority in jobs, the instability of the lottery system, the shift to remote work, employee layoffs, organizational restructuring, and fear of what the trump administration will do are the reasons for this decision by tech companies. As a result, indian tech workers who dream of going to the US through H1B visas are left wondering what to do next. In 2023, a total of 3,86,000 H1B visas were issued in the United States. Of these, 2,79,000, or 72.3%, were issued to Indians. Chinese nationals received 11.7% of the H1B visas.
