Box Office Shocker - Great Reviews, Pathetic Collections

Gladiator II, directed by Ridley Scott, is now available in theaters after a more than two-decade wait. Since its debut on Friday, november 15, the movie has already gotten good reviews worldwide. Unfortunately, given how well-liked the last movie was by viewers, the box office results fall short of expectations. The list of Viacom & Paramount Pictures films with the lowest opening now includes another one.

Notably, with first-day receipts of just Rs. 45 lacs, the production company's second picture, The Quiet Place: Day One, similarly fell short of expectations this year. Returning to Gladiator II, it has made between Rs. 1.70 and Rs. 1.75 crores so far. Over the past two years, Viacom and Paramount have published a number of movies, including the Transformers and Scream sequels. But none of them have been able to draw in the crowd.

Deadpool & Wolverine was the only hollywood movie that managed to stay in theaters for a long time in India. On the first day, it opened at about 20 crores, and that amount remained constant throughout the week. The aforementioned example has demonstrated once more that only the Marvel and DC franchises have the ability to entice viewers to the big screen. Despite having the same potential, other ventures are only popular on television.

Hollywood movies are having trouble making an impact on indian audiences in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak. The primary causes have been the high cost of tickets and, to some degree, the lackluster plots. The moment has come for hollywood to realize that, in order to appeal to indian audiences, they must prioritize quality over quantity.
