Kannada Industry Breathes a Sigh Of Relief as Flop Movie Escapes Social Media Trolls

Prashanth Neel's story and screenplay for the kannada movie Bagheera garnered media attention. Because of Prashanth Neel's strong brand, the movie was promoted as a pan-India production. Nevertheless, it brought in less than Rs 30 crore globally at the end of its theatrical run. Netflix has just begun to broadcast the movie.
Remarkably, the first kannada movie to be available for streaming on the massive over-the-top service Netflix is Bagheera. Netflix has movies like Kantara, however they are only available in hindi and not the native kannada language. Given the prominent figures involved, including prashanth neel and Hombale Films, it appears like Netflix has purchased the OTT rights to Bagheera.

On OTT, the reaction to Bagheera has been mediocre at best. The polished performances, respectable technical elements, excellent BGM, and skillful filming of Srii Murali, Prakash Raj, and achyuth kumar stand out. A few mass moments and the action blocks are excellent. Predictability and the usual storyline are disadvantages, though. Overall, it's a tolerable superhero movie because it's rather engaging. The kannada industry is relieved that Bagheera is not being ridiculed or harassed on social media following its over-the-top release, following the debacles of Martin and Kabzaa.
