New twist in the Champions Trophy series..!?
The schedule for the Champions Trophy cricket series has not yet been announced. The reason for this is that the indian cricket team announced that they will not come to pakistan and participate in the matches. Due to this, the bcci had insisted on holding the matches played by india in Dubai. However, pakistan, which initially refused to do so, warned that if the competition is held in a hybrid format, they will withdraw from the Champions Trophy series. In this context, even though pakistan has now come down, they have said that they will not come to india and play in any ICC matches. There were reports that if india does not agree to this demand of pakistan, pakistan has no other option but to leave the series.
In this situation, an ICC executive has said that pakistan cannot leave the Champions Trophy series even if it wants to. Explaining this, he said that the teams participating in each series will sign an agreement with the ICC. In that agreement, it will be written that we will follow the rules set by the ICC. Only by signing that agreement can we receive income from the ICC series. All the countries participating in the Champions Trophy series have signed this. In this context, if the pakistan team says that they are withdrawing from the Champions Trophy series, the ICC has the means to take legal action against them. Not only that, the pakistan cricket Board will have to pay a large amount as compensation. Also, pakistan will not get the funds from the ICC. The executive said that the pakistan cricket Board cannot withdraw from the Champions Trophy series due to many such problems. Not only that, he alleges that pakistan asked the ICC whether india would play in their country before it got the rights to host the Champions Trophy, and the ICC did not give an adequate answer at the time.
