Hundreds of IndiGo passengers stranded at Istanbul airport due to delays in their flights to Delhi and Mumbai

Reportedly indigo is sending two planes to Istanbul to bring back passengers who were stranded after their flight to delhi was cancelled due to a technical issue on Friday. Hundreds of indigo passengers were stranded at Istanbul airport for over 24 hours due to delays in their flights to delhi and mumbai on Thursday. The delays caused a ripple effect, affecting other flights on these routes.

Meanwhile passengers took to social media to express their frustration about the long wait and lack of adequate facilities at the airport. On friday evening, indigo assured passengers that they had taken all necessary steps to keep them informed, offering refreshments and accommodation where possible. However, on Saturday, the airline confirmed that Flight 6E 12, operating from Istanbul to delhi, was cancelled due to a technical issue. The cancellation happened on friday, causing further disruption to the passengers.

Moreover the airline said in a statement “Alternative aircraft have been arranged to transport passengers to their destination. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused and appreciate their understanding in this matter". indigo operates two daily flights to Istanbul using leased Boeing 777 aircraft, one from delhi and another from Mumbai. Meanwhile, details about the number of passengers who were booked on the cancelled flight on friday could not be immediately ascertained.
