Union minister of State for External Affairs kirti Varadhan Singh said that false allegations are damaging bilateral relations. canada had accused indian diplomats of being involved in the killing of Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar on Canadian soil. In a written reply to a question by congress MP manish tewari in the Lok Sabha, Union minister of State for External Affairs kirti vardhan singh said in the Rajya Sabha: canada has not provided any evidence for the serious allegations leveled against India. Cases against indian citizens in canada will affect bilateral relations.
Continuing to level false allegations will harm bilateral relations. The government has urged action to be taken against Canadian officials who are acting as anti-national forces from indian soil. The government will work with full commitment to protecting indians abroad. "We consider it important to ensure the safety of indians living in the US and canada," kirti vardhan singh said. The Centre has informed the parliament that canada has presented "no evidence whatsoever in support of the serious allegations" claiming that indian citizens were involved in crimes committed in the country.
