The tamil Nadu government has made coimbatore and madurai Metro one of its main projects. The tamil Nadu government is planning to give high priority tothis and implement the project. Accordingly, land will be acquired for this in february itself.

Since land will be acquiredmostly in places near government roads and roads.. these works are expected to be completed easily. The central government has provided funds for chennai Metro. In this situation, a new metro DPR has been prepared for madurai and Coimbatore.The DPR report submitted to the central government earlier was rejected due to various errors. Due to this, the project that was pending has now been prepared again and submitted to the central government. It may get approval soon.

Coimbatore Metro

Metro works are to be carried out in 5 places in Coimbatore. The first phase of this project will be brought up to Avinashi Road and Kaniyur.

Metro route via Avinashi Road and Trichy Road. Metro line via Sathi Salai, Siruvani Salai. They have decided to build metro lines along Mettupalayam roads, and this metro rail project will be implemented for a total distance of 139 kilometers.

The metro rail will operate at the same speed as in Chennai. The metro rail project is to be implemented in 3 phases. It was announced that the metro will be built at the end of the first phase of work on Sathi Salai up to the Valiyampalayam section.

An announcement has been made that a regular metro rail project will be implemented in coimbatore instead of the Metro Light project. Metro Light means slower and will have fewer coaches. But the coimbatore Metro will function as a full metro like the chennai Metro.

Initially, it was announced that the Metro Light project would be implemented in Coimbatore. But after the consultation taken by Chief minister Stalin, this has been changed. Considering the development and importance of the industrial city of coimbatore, it has been decided to implement the regular metro rail project instead of the Metro Light project.

Route of madurai Metro Project

To build a metro in Madurai, permission from the corporation must be obtained regarding the removal of shops at various places.After that, permission must be obtained from the central government.

Consultations must also be made with many industrial companies. Agreements must be obtained with them. Various agreements must be made for this.Thus, the construction work of the madurai Metro rail will begin by the end of next year.

The metro, like the one in chennai, is to come with three coaches.This work will take 3 years. The metro work will be completed in madurai by 2027. An underground system (2 tunnels) will be implemented for a distance of 5 km in this madurai Metro.The metro will be built underground in the areas where there are temples and in the central areas.

It was initially said that this metro would not be a tunnel. Instead, it was said that the entire route would be built on a bridge and laid in it. But this time it has been said that a tunnel will also be laid. According to this plan, this metro line will pass through various parts of the entire city, starting from Thirumangalam to Othakadai.

This metro will operate through the following areas: Thirumangalam, Kappalur Toll Plaza, Dharmathupatti, Thoppur, Thirunagar, Thiruparankundram, Pasumalai, Vasantha Nagar, mathura College, madurai Junction, Simmakkal, Keezhavasal, Dakshinavasal, Koripalayam, police Commissioner's Office, K. Puthur, Mattuthavani, Uthangudi, high court Bench and Othakadai.

A total of 20 stops will operate here. Out of which, one route will go through Simmakkal after mathura College. Another route will go through Dakshinavasal. These two routes are only for 3 specific stops. Only people who need to get down at these stops will have to change lanes.
