20 lakh houses to be built under PM Awas Yojana!
The central government on monday (23 December) gave a big gift to the people of maharashtra under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In fact, it announced the approval of 20 lakh new houses for maharashtra under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. After this announcement, maharashtra chief minister devendra fadnavis thanked PM Modi.
maharashtra cm devendra fadnavis shared a post on his instagram and wrote, 'Thank you prime minister Narendra Modi and Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for approving 20 lakh new houses for maharashtra under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.'
Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has issued a letter in this regard. He said in the letter that as you know, the Ministry of Rural Development is implementing Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), a flagship scheme of the government of india from 1 april 2016 with the objective of housing for all.
637089 houses to be built for the poor in Maharashtra
He said that the objective of this scheme is to provide assistance to eligible rural families for the construction of pucca houses with basic amenities. The Union cabinet has approved it in a meeting held on 9 august 2024. It has been decided to continue the scheme for five more years till march 2029 for construction of 2 crore additional houses to meet the increasing housing needs in rural areas.
The central government has allocated 6,37,089 houses for maharashtra during the financial year 2024-25 from the finally approved budget. The letter said that I am happy to inform you that the Ministry of Rural Development, government of india has approved an additional target of 13,29,678 houses for your state during the financial year 2024-25 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. This is a step towards the government of India's commitment to housing for all in the rural areas of the country. The cumulative target for your State for FY 2024-25 will be 19,66,767 houses. I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate the commitment of this Ministry towards the successful implementation of PMAY-G in your State.
