Former prime minister of the country and world-renowned economist Dr. manmohan singh died on thursday night. The central government has declared 7 days of state mourning on his death. Meanwhile, all government programs of friday have been canceled. Dr. manmohan singh is considered the father of economic reforms and liberalization in the country. He had a special relationship with uttarakhand, where he often came to meet his family and friends.

Dr. manmohan singh had a deep relationship with Uttarakhand. Whenever he got time, he used to come to dehradun in uttarakhand and meet his family and friends. His uncle late Gopal Singh kohli had a residence in Race Course area of Dehradun. Dr. manmohan singh often stayed here and refreshed his childhood memories. He had a deep affection for his cousins late harbhajan singh kohli and Amarjit Singh Kohli.

He said, "The demise of Dr. manmohan singh is an irreparable loss not only for our family but for the entire country. His simplicity, dedication and foresight will always keep him memorable." His coming to dehradun, meeting his family and interacting with personalities like Swami ram Ji are proof of the fact that he used to give priority to relationships even in his busy routine.

Dr. manmohan Singh's name will always be remembered in the history of the country for economic reforms and policy changes. When he became the Finance minister in 1991, he gave a new direction to the country's economy. Due to his efforts, the indian economy which was closed for decades was opened and india was made a part of global trade. Under his leadership, India's faltering economy not only found stability but also achieved new dimensions of development. His talent and efficiency made him the prime minister of the country in 2004. During his tenure, he served the country not only on the economic front but also through social welfare schemes. His government launched the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGA) in 2005, which was later renamed as mahatma gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGA). This scheme is still a strong basis of employment for rural India.
