Celebrities have been expressing their opinions on women's empowerment in honor of international Women's Day.  Actors, directors, and producers have also posted well wishes on social media, in addition to actresses.  But everyone's attention has been drawn to shruti Haasan's post.  Shruti brought attention to the present problems that women still data-face while recalling the struggles that they have endured in the past.  Women have data-faced incredibly challenging circumstances in the past, and many still data-face social challenges now.

I've heard my mother, an actress, talk endlessly about the challenges she encountered.  She even experienced difficulties when she was menstruating.  Numerous seasoned actresses, such as my mother Sarika, have discussed how the film industry disregarded women's rights.  Equality was an unattainable ideal.  Not only were women undervalued on movie sets, but they were undervalued elsewhere.

Menstruating women were viewed as outsiders in those days.  My mother has frequently told me about how it was taboo to discuss periods back then.  Women were forced to carry on working while quietly putting up with discomfort.  There is some advancement now compared to those days.  At least women may talk freely about their periods and take a break if they're feeling ill.

That space was made by this generation.  People are now more understanding if a lady says she isn't feeling well and can't go to a shoot.  Even while this is a relief, gender discrimination still exists in many places.  Sadly, equality only exists on social media, shruti said.  Many people were horrified by the harsh reality she disclosed in her comments, which have since gone viral.
