Do You Know? Lata Mangeshkar was given slow poison and she was Bedridden for 3 months?

SIBY JEYYA
Born on september 29, 1929, lata mangeshkar left behind an unmatched legacy before her away in february of last year. She sang in more than 36 indian languages and recorded songs for more than 1,000 hindi movies, making her one of the most well-known and revered playback singers in the world.

Lata was the daughter of Shevanti and Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar, a well-known classical vocalist and theater performer, and was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.  Her siblings, Meena, Asha, Usha, and Hridaynath, are also well-known in the music industry, and she grew up in a family of artists.  At the tender age of five, Lata began her artistic career by performing in her father's musical theater shows.

Slow Poison
When lata mangeshkar became seriously ill in early 1962, medical professionals were asked to assess her condition.  It was discovered after a careful inquiry that she had been gradually poisoned.  For three days, she engaged in a life-threatening struggle.  She was physically weakened by the experience and spent about three months in bed.  The family's cook vanished shortly after the incident without collecting his pay.  The late bollywood lyricist Majrooh Sultanpuri would frequently visit Lata during this trying time, taste her food to make sure it was safe, and then let her eat.

When lata mangeshkar was just five years old, she made her stage debut in her father Deenanath Mangeshkar's theatrical shows, marking the beginning of her musical and acting career.

She started teaching the other kids music lessons on her first day of school.  She was so insulted when the teacher begged her to stop that she never went back to school.  According to other accounts, she dropped out of school because the school had issues with her frequent attendance with her younger sister Asha.

Tragically, Lata's father died of heart disease when she was 13 years old, leaving her to take care of her family alone.  She found it difficult to establish herself in the music business in the 1940s.  Although it was finally removed from the finished film, her debut song was recorded for the Marathi movie Kiti Hasaal (1942).  The well-known song "Aayega Aanewala" from the 1949 film Mahal, which launched her career after she moved to mumbai in 1945, was the catalyst for her ascent to fame.
