Actress and bjp mp kangana ranaut supported the mumbai civic body's use of bulldozers at the studio where comedian Kunal Kamra made divisive comments about Eknath Shinde, emphasizing that it shouldn't be equated to the "illegal" demolition of her home in 2020.
"The actions done against Kunal Kamra are legal, but what occurred to me—the demolition of her bungalow—was unlawful. "My case and Kamra's case are not comparable," Ranaut informed reporters.
The Mandi mp was alluding to the BMC's september 2020 destruction of her Pali Hill, Bandra, property due to unauthorized building. The incident occurred during a dispute with the then-undivided shiv sena, and she had not yet joined the BJP.
Last week, Kamra caused a stir when, during a bollywood song parody at the Habitat comedy Club, he called Shinde a "gaddar" (traitor). The insult was a reference to the 2022 shiv sena divide caused by Shinde's revolt.
The Habitat comedy Club in Khar and the Unicontinental Hotel, which houses the club, were both vandalized on sunday night by shiv sena members. A makeshift shelter was demolished on monday by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) personnel using hammers.
Ranaut emphadata-sized that it was disrespectful to Shinde's efforts and hardships to criticize him in the guise of comedy. The new bjp mp claimed that Shinde, who used to work as an auto mechanic, became the chief minister as a result of his diligence and hard work.
"What qualifications does Kunal Kamra possess? "He hasn't accomplished anything noteworthy in life," she remarked.
According to the 'Queen' star, there is a similar trend in bollywood where people are disparaging celebrities in the name of amusement and comedy. "A similar trend is being followed in our film business as well. She asked, "Where is our society headed?"
However, Kamra has criticized the "senseless" vandalism at the studio where his performance was place and stated that there was no consideration of apologizing.
"I'm not going to apologize... Kamra declared, "I don't fear this mob, and I won't be hiding under my bed, waiting for this to end."
In his initial remarks over the dispute, Eknath Shinde compared Kamra's jab at him to using "supari" (contract) to disparage someone.
