A video of the dispute between two TMC MPs and screenshots of a whatsapp chat went viral on social media. The bjp has surrounded the TMC regarding this. bjp leader amit Malviya shared the screenshot and claimed that there was a heated debate between TMC mp kalyan banerjee and kirti Azad. According to PTI, the authenticity of the screenshot could not be confirmed.

BJP leader amit Malviya wrote on X that a dispute between TMC mp Banerjee and a female mp took place on april 4 at the election commission headquarters. After this, the matter escalated and a heated debate took place between kalyan banerjee and an mp on this issue in the whatsapp group of TMC MPs.

TMC mp kalyan banerjee said that when he and other party MPs went to submit the party's memorandum to the election commission headquarters, there was a dispute. He blamed the woman mp for this. He said that I have been in politics for the last 40 years. The woman MP was asking the security personnel outside the election commission office to arrest me. Banerjee said who are they to send me to jail?They abused me. I am the one who fights in Parliament. I am not a person who is obsessed with only a specific industrial house. Just because the woman mp speaks fluent English, it does not mean that she can insult anyone. Senior TMC leaders said that the matter has reached the party supremo and West bengal Chief minister mamata Banerjee. After the dispute, the woman mp left the whatsapp group. After this, she sent letters to mamata banerjee and TMC National General Secretary abhishek Banerjee.

A TMC leader said that after the party delegation reached the election commission office, kalyan banerjee argued with the woman mp over signing the memorandum. He then asked the security personnel to intervene and demanded his arrest, accusing him of misbehaving with the woman MP. Both the MPs reportedly lodged a verbal complaint to mamata banerjee about the incident. After this, there was an argument between kalyan banerjee and Kirti azad on the whatsapp group of MPs. Banerjee claimed that Kirti azad was the one who provoked me and was lecturing me about what to do. He has leaked the whatsapp chat.

Senior TMC mp Saugata Roy accused kalyan banerjee of tarnishing the party's image. Roy said that what he has done has tarnished the party's image. kalyan banerjee should be removed from the post of Chief Whip immediately. He misbehaves and insults everyone in the party. Strict action should be taken against him.
