The foreign worker posted on social media that he was comfortable using his work laptop and employee ID. Only a few hours later, HR drew him aside and informed him that they would not be able to keep him on staff due to his immigration status.
The fact that this individual had brought attention to the problem weeks prior and requested the vital I-983 form just makes it worse. HR said they would take care of it, but the person in charge resigned, and nobody else was interested in following up. Since January, this individual has been enduring arduous job searches, interviews, two nationwide moves, depletion of money, and five heartbreaks at the final hurdle.
