"Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zeppelin:

Unsurprisingly, Led Zeppelin's rock classic serves as a fitting introduction to the audience for aging veteran racer Sonny Hayes.  It was released in 1969 and unintentionally represents Sonny's age and dedication to racing.

"Round and Round" by Ratt:

When Javier Bardem's Ruben Cervantes is initially introduced to the audience, this song, another classic rock staple, is playing in the laundromat.

"Bad As I Used to Be" by chris Stapleton:

While Sonny is getting ready for his first Formula One trial with the APX team, chris Stapleton's slick country/rock mash-up plays.  In the data-face of contemporary racing culture, it perfectly captures his swaggering, confident demeanor and rebelliousness.

"We Will Rock You" by Queen:

As Sonny gets ready for the british Grand Prix, the iconic stadium hymn by the british rock group queen appropriately plays.  He also first encounters Peter Banning, the de facto antagonist and APX board member of Tobias Menzies, there.

"Don't Let Me Drown" by Burna Boy:

A training montage featuring Joshua and Sonny is played over the easy club music. Sonny continues to use manual methods, while Joshua makes full use of the latest fitness equipment and analytics.

"Lose My Mind (feat. Doja Cat) by Don Toliver:

This song, released before to the film's release, plays as Sonny introduces the APX team to "Plan C," where the letter C stands for "combat."  As Joshua recovers from his fiery crash, it continues over his training montage.

"Underdog" by Roddy Rich:

When Joshua eventually rejoins the APX squad in time to compete at the belgium Grand Prix, this hip-hop/trap song starts playing.  The contemporary sounds complement Joshua's self-assured (if not cocky) racing demeanor.

"Just Cool" by Obongjayar:

As Kerry Condon's character Kate deceives Sonny and Joshua into playing a poker game to decide who will be the top driver the following day, the upbeat afrobeat song by Nigerian singer Obongjayar plays in The Supper Club in Las Vegas.

"Messy" by ROSÉ:

When Joshua leaves after the poker game and Sonny and Kate's flirtations turn into full-fledged passion, the pop tune by New Zealand-born singer ROSÉ comes on.

"Just Keep Watching" by Tate McRae:

When Cashman and Joshua end up in the Vegas club following the poker game, the Canadian singer's pop/club song is played in Formula One.  Joshua, who is obviously influenced by Sonny's attitude of taking racing seriously rather than concentrating on fame and money, leaves his cousin in the club so that he may get some rest for the race.
