Supreme Court asks former Haryana MLA to surrender back to jail!!
Supreme Court: Former haryana mla Dharam Singh should surrender by tomorrow; theSupreme court directs
The supreme court on saturday directed former haryana Congress mla Dharam Singh Chokkar, who was released on bail on medical grounds in a money laundering case, to surrender to jail. The apex court refused to hear Chokkar's plea against the order of the punjab and haryana High Court. The ED had arrested him on May 4 from a five-star hotel in delhi in a Rs 1500 crore money laundering case.
Chokar's lawyers, ashok Agarwal and ashish Pandey, urged before the bench of Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice R mahadevan that the high court has made a mistake by not extending the surrender deadline for this elderly leader who was beaten up during the arrest. However, the bench did not agree with these arguments and asked the former mla to surrender earlier. Sensing the attitude of the bench, the lawyers withdrew the petition.
