ED Seizes ₹55 Lakh in Assets from Celebrities
Chargesheet Filed Against YouTuber Elvish Yadav and singer Fazilpuria
Chargesheet Filed:
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a chargesheet in the special PMLA court against YouTuber Elvish Yadav and punjabi singer Fazilpuria, implicating them in a money laundering case.
Song "32 Bore" Controversy:
The investigation stems from their music video for the song "32 Bore," where snakes were used during the shoot. This led to an ED probe under the Money Laundering Act based on a Gurugram FIR.
Seized Assets: The ED has seized assets worth ₹55 lakh from both Elvish Yadav and Fazilpuria, including:
₹3 million from their personal bank accounts
₹2 million from Sky Digital's account (the company that shot the music video)
3 acres of agricultural land worth ₹5 million in Bijnor, purchased with proceeds from the song
Revenue from Song:
Fazilpuria's song generated ₹5.2 million from YouTube, contributing to the money laundering charges.
Cobra Scandal:
Elvish Yadav is also linked to the Noida Cobra Scandal. His name surdata-faced after a case was filed by people for Animals, alleging his involvement in supplying snake venom and live snakes for rave parties at various venues across noida and NCR.
Investigation and Arrest:
After an investigation confirmed his involvement in the snake supply network, Elvish was arrested by noida Police on march 17, 2024. The ED has also questioned him in connection with the scandal.
Next Steps:
Elvish Yadav and Fazilpuria will be summoned by the court once it takes cognizance of the chargesheet.
