She demands a statement from the Civil Aviation Minister, citing severe public distress and operational failures.


Scale of the Crisis


IndiGo’s disruptions show no signs of stabilising, with hundreds of flights affected daily.


DGCA summons indigo officials to seek explanations for persistent disruptions.


The crisis has now escalated into a national concern, affecting passengers, airports, and aviation operations.

On Wednesday, indigo flights data-faced a nationwide breakdown.


Passengers suffered delays of up to 7 hours.


70+ flights were cancelled initially, with major airports—Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad—severely hit.


Both domestic and international routes (including Mumbai–Maldives) were disrupted.


IndiGo cited technical issues, airport congestion, operational requirements, and severe crew shortages.


Situation Worsens Further


By Friday, flight cancellations surged to 400+ across India.


Delhi Airport: 220+ cancellations.


Bengaluru: 100+ cancellations.


Hyderabad: 90+ cancellations.


Several other cities also reported widespread delays and mismanagement.


IndiGo’s Official Response


The airline attributes disruptions to crew shortages, combined with cold, fog, and heavy air traffic.


IndiGo expects operations to stabilise in 2–3 days, but warns of continued cancellations.


Announces flight reductions from december 8 to restore schedule reliability and minimise further disruptions.
