M.K. Stalin has formally issued
appointment orders to transgender individuals selected for the
Village Protection Force (Oor Kaaval Padai). In the first phase of this initiative,
50 transgender members have been inducted into the force, marking a significant step toward inclusivity in public service.The newly appointed members will undergo
specialized training to perform duties such as
assisting in crowd management during festivals and public events, supporting law enforcement, and ensuring village safety. Officials stated that this initiative not only strengthens community policing but also empowers the transgender community by providing them meaningful employment and recognition.The induction has been widely welcomed as a progressive move by the tamil Nadu government, reflecting its commitment to
social equality, diversity, and inclusive governance.
