Chennai: The Manithaneya Makkal Katchi (MMK) has officially announced its support for the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)-led alliance in the upcoming 2026 assembly elections.

Resolution Passed at Special General Council Meeting

The decision was taken at a Special General Council meeting of the party held in Chennai. During the meeting, party leaders and representatives deliberated on the prevailing political climate in tamil Nadu and the importance of safeguarding the state's interests.

After extensive discussions, a formal resolution was unanimously adopted declaring MMK’s continued association with and support for the DMK alliance in the 2026 elections.

Emphasis on tamil Nadu’s Rights and Identity

In the resolution, the party emphadata-sized the need to protect tamil Nadu’s welfare, uphold the unique cultural identity of the tamil people, and defend the constitutional rights and autonomy of the state.

Leaders highlighted concerns over issues related to federalism, state rights, social justice, and minority welfare. The party reaffirmed its commitment to policies that promote inclusive development, communal harmony, and equitable growth.
