Chennai: tamil Nadu chief minister M. K. Stalin has stated that the government’s decision to provide financial assistance of ₹5,000 each to 1.31 crore women has become a subject of discussion at the national level.

Expressing pride over the implementation of the scheme, the chief minister said the large-scale disbursement reflects the state government’s strong commitment to women’s welfare and economic empowerment. He emphadata-sized that the initiative was designed to provide direct financial support to women, particularly those from economically weaker sections, helping them manage household expenses and improve their financial stability.

According to official sources, the funds were transferred directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts to ensure transparency and eliminate middlemen. The government views the scheme as a significant step toward strengthening women’s financial independence and enhancing their role in household decision-making.

The chief minister noted that the successful rollout and the scale of beneficiaries—1.31 crore women—have drawn attention across the country, with many observers describing it as a model welfare initiative. He added that the scheme demonstrates tamil Nadu’s proactive approach to inclusive governance and social justice.
