Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) played a crucial role in safeguarding voters’ rights during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state.Speaking at a public event in
Madurai, the chief minister emphadata-sized that the party worked diligently to ensure that no eligible voter was removed from the electoral list during the revision process.
Protecting Democratic RightsStalin noted that the electoral roll revision process is a vital exercise in a democracy, as it determines who is eligible to vote. He alleged that during the SIR process, there were concerns about the potential removal of genuine voters from the rolls.He asserted that the DMK, along with its cadre and alliance partners, actively monitored the process to prevent any wrongful deletions. “Our movement stood firm to protect the democratic rights of the people,” he said, adding that every vote represents the voice and future of the people.
Grassroots-Level EffortsAccording to the chief minister, party workers were instructed to verify voter lists at the booth level and assist citizens in rectifying discrepancies. He praised the efforts of grassroots cadres who worked directly with the public to ensure their names remained on the electoral rolls.Stalin highlighted that the DMK has always upheld democratic principles and has consistently fought to preserve the rights of marginalized and underrepresented communities.
Commitment to Fair ElectionsThe chief minister reiterated that free and fair elections form the foundation of democracy. He stressed that ensuring the inclusion of all eligible voters is essential to maintaining public trust in the electoral system.He further stated that the DMK government remains committed to transparency and accountability in all democratic processes. “No eligible voter should lose their right due to administrative lapses or negligence,” he affirmed.
